Check the spirol pins maybe one of them broke. Might be shifter forks too. There's a guide in the tech section of the site.

Pull the fenders and shifter...it may be immediately obvious. There's always rearend gears on ebay, but a whole 'nother rear will be faster.

Just another option - was in the junkyard the other day and found two old gear drive cubs, complete rear ends there for sure, maybe a few other things too, but definitely trans and rear ends, complete assemblies.
I'm in Ohio, btw. |

unfortunately, around here cubs are far and few in between. i have bought or been given all that i have found. i'm gonna wait till the temp drops and then tear into it and see the damage. i'm not in a big hurry for it, i'm gonna drop the deck and put it back on the 1200, then i will have my wifes' 1450 and the 1200. if i had to cut with anything else, i would be sick. you just can't beat a cub cut!!!! jeff

spirol pins seem to be ok, from just a quick glance. i still think it's in the rear end. when you roll it in neutral, you have hear and feel a slight popping noise coming from the chunk. when i go through the gears (not running) you can feel them "seat" in there proper place but if you put it in any of the gears and then try to push it, you can't feel no resistance from motor compression. so that's my "idea" of what maybe wrong, but like i said, it's to stinking hot to get out and work on it right now. thank you!!! jeff
