Default Cub Cadet122
Just got a Cub 122, previous owner restored/rebuilt engine. Only problem I have found with this machine is it back fires some when I increase the throttle. Do i need to adjust the carb, or is there maybe another problem I havent thought about? I am not real familiar with the works of an engine so any help with be appreciated. Thank you for your time,

The frist thing I would do is to check the timing using Matt's timing guide.

If that doesn't help I'd check carb settings. My problems were a blown head gasket.

For reasons I don't understand, that file vanished from my website. I'm going to reupload it ASAP, but the host website seems to be having some issues today. I'm not sure what's going on. In the meantime, send me an email at matt.gonitzke@gmail.com and I'll send it to you.

Thanks, I was just going to ask if anyone could see it. I can't get it to load on my laptop, but my iPod Touch, of all things, will load it. I guess the problem is on my end now...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
