Default How do I remove this pulley?

I loosened the flywheel nut thinking that was holding this down but that wasn't it

The nut does have to come off to remove the drive cup/ pulley. Will just be a metal dowel that goes into a slot in the flywheel. Take the but off spray some pentrating oil around the back side and the center of it. Let it soak then gently tap it with a rubber mallet.

Make sure it comes off straight. It's aluminum. The dowel is steel. If it comes off crooked it will deform the hole in the aluminum. Ask me how I know.

Too late, I got it off with a puller but there is a crack in the aluminum hole where the pin goes, I don't know if it was like that before or if I did it with the puller.

Now you need a new used one.

Maybe someone on here has a good used one. I think they're about $60 new.

search by part number. you'll find it cheaper elsewhere. probably won't have the v-belt pulley grove.

well, that might not be the correct number. I didn't ask what engine you are working on. That's for a K321.

Not sure but I think Mid West Super Cub makes a Billet Aluminum adapter that will replace that for the puller guys. I'll see what I can find out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
