Default How to get this pulley off?

I want to get the flywheel off but I first need to get the yellow pulley that attaches to the clutch driver off that is pictured before I can get to the threaded hole to pull the flywheel. How do I do this? I have already pulled the flywheel nut so.... I'm at a loss any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. Also where would be a good place to get a new pulley seeing as how that one is chipped?

I usualy use a rubber mallet and tap it side to side. Usualy comes off. Its chipped more then likely cuz someone pried on it or hit it

If you have already taken the nut off, it should come loose.

Ive used them like that but check it out make sure itd not cracked anywhere else. It is a possibilty for chunks to come flying off. Clean it up and inspect it

It's fine. Unless you are running a hydraulic unit with it.

If you replace it, box up that one and send it to me.... I'll use it. I'm not scared.

Well back to the how do I get it off? I'd put a puller on it with some heat and it should come off. Most of the time they stick on the dowel pin.

theres nothing preventing the flywheel from coming off with the pulley still on it. you can remove the nut and gently tap the flywheel with a hammer and the whole thing should come off as one.

Try putting some penetrating oil on it over night and try tapping with a rubber mallet, should come right off. As for the flywheel , I've never got one off by just tapping on it, your probably going to have to put a puller on it.

10-4 on the pulley for the flywheel.

The drive cup is aluminum and it's corroded some and stuck tight to the F/W and crank. Knock it to and fro some, lightly, with a rubber mallet as suggested. Once you see it move a little it will only take a little more tapping back and forth and it will come straight off. You do have the nut & washer on the end of the crank off, correct??

Just don't try and turn it as it is held in place with a pin

Reinstall the nut flush with the end of the crank before you install the puller to avoid screwing up the threads. It will come off with a bang! and this also keeps it from flying off and possibly mashing a finger or a toe or breaking the fins if it were to land on the floor. A steering wheel puller is ideal but you could make your own if need be.
