Default PTO belt question for 104

I reviewed the belt chart info provided and it refers to a 3/8 x81 inch belt for the 42" mower. I checked TSC today and they hadn't had one, single 3/8 by anything belt. The major chain auto stores carry nothing bigger than 76-80 inch 3/8 belts. I entered the IH CC part number in many searches and it comes up 1/2 x 811/2. I have no hair to pull and the lawn is not gravity challenged any more! Can someone slam dunk me mowed?

I bought my belt online for like $12, I have a 104 with a 42" deck. I think that the 80" one MAY work, those pulleys on the mule drive have a lot of room for adjustments... just take a look online and you can find 81" ones cheap...

Something like that, I have never had any problems with aftermarket belts, although some say they are not strong enough.

I have heard here that Goodyear Insta-power belts are a good alternative to the OEM belts. I haven't tried them myself but I am going to order one soon because my PTO belt is about to die.

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct belt cross section?

there may be another place on the forum to find this info- but it seemed like a good segway for my question. What is the belt dimension for the belt that drives a tiller on a 122? I know it would be the same for most narrow frame CC's, but I have never hooked up the tiller drive on my 122.

81 " deck drive belt- that means the tiller belt has got to be well over 100"

Thanks - and sorry for the hi-jack

Don't buy that goodyear belt--it is too wide (tried it on my 125). I bought it and then had to return it to Amazon.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
