thank you very much guys for all your help. i did check everything that you guys suggested. but I did find the problem. when I put it back together I added a washer between the teaser spring and the clutch plate. for some reason that wouldnt allow the teaser spring to uncompress all the way releasing pressure. I took it all apart about 8 times total before I figured that out. took that washer out and now it works like its suppose to. thanks again.

This is what mine looks like. first pic is engaged , next 2 are not . I think you have a problem with how something is spaced on your drive shaft.Did you put a different throw out bearing in that is a diff length. The travel that you have looks the same as mine . maybe put a spacer in the wrong spot.

That whole tractor needs some TLC. It blows smoke both out the muffler and the head.Need to save some $$$ before I tackle it . so for now it's going on the back burner.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
