Well I had paint matched at a local paint store. I had taken it from under the seat where it was still in good shape , I sprayed the frame but it almost seems like it to bright and not as rich in color. Should I have used a red primer instead of grey ? I bought a can from tractor supply cub yellow to compare and it almost looks the same as what I had made.

Get valspar transport yellow if you want the IH cub yellow. I did the Cub cadet yellow on mine just cause I like that look better than that orangey yellow of the older ones.

I resprayed my 1811 two years ago and the best color and paint I found was the CC paint on ebay. It is richer and a little more of glowing color than the Valspar. Unfortunately it is very expensive but flows and blends really nice. I also quit using the paint from Tractor Supply because I had a real bad experience with their paint and tried to get the company to look into why the paint came out in droplets no matter how much shaking or temperature. If I sprayed it on a piece of primed metal I could actually see the little droplets land and remain in droplet form on the metal. The clown at the Magic paint company told me he thought I needed to shake it a little longer. I told him where to stick his crummy paint products. Then he said that maybe there was a bad batch of nozzles and that he would send me several different nozzles to see if that fixed the problem. Of course I never got jack from the Magic paint company. I like the older yellow better than the newer because it is richer and a little more orange. The Valspar white is fine and I didn't have a problem with it.

I picked up some valspar paint and it is what I want from where I tested it. I bought a soda blaster to make some of the harder to get to spots a little bit easier. Hopefully this week ill get to try it out . I found a running onan out of newer shaft drive cub but its only a 14hp so back to searching. Thinking I might just but some cash back and to get a new Briggs swap from one of the places I seen on the web seems a fair price @ $1600+

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
