Just saw this post Sam.
Excellent work and descriptions on what you have done. If I ever find a spare rear, will do the same as you described.

Got the rear all finsihed today, even put the brakes back on. Now I need to come up with a way to test it. I'm not about to offer it for sale untill I know it works as it should. I'll take some pics of it tomorrow. I've had all the fun I can stand for one day and it's cocktail hour, see ya.

Made a little test stand to hold the rear, an adapter so I could run it with a cordless drill and a return line for the hydraulics out of some 3/8” brake line and a pair of flare nuts. Good thing Advance Auto was open today for the brake line. Had to do the cut and flare deal for the return line. Put oil in her and took the drill to it. Houston we have lift off. Runs like a new one. Now if any of you guys need a fresh rear and pump for a Super I have one on the shelf ready to go. Only thing I’m not positive about are the relief valves because I couldn’t run it long enough for it to develop a leak. The poor little cordless battery died after a couple minutes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
