Make sure you have a good ground cable from the motor itself to the frame of the tractor ..The quietlines often lose the ground cable during an dengine swap, or they get put in the wrong place. The ISO cradle is NOT grounded to the chassis so you have to jumper to the chassis itself or the current will flow thru whatever other ground it can go thru, including choke and throttle cables. That's why it burned ya..

ANd at the back, be sure all your battery connections are clean, shiny and tight, and the ground cable to the frame is the same on the frame end.

Thanks guys! Ill check the wiring over to see what I can find. Ill clean up the terminals on the battery, and on the ground cable, (which I do have installed btw). The tractor was leaning only a couple degrees to the right, so I guess that explains that. I'll take off the bowl and see what I can do about that. Matt, if I'm correct, factory settings on a k341 carb are: maintop) 3 1/2. idle: (side) 1 1/2 right? This is what I started out with. maybe I have the numbers wrong. I don't have a book but I think that is what I heard somwhere. thanks for your help

Remember that every motor is gonna be a little different and those are only a suggestion. I use 1 3/4 on the idle because I don't think I've ever been able to get one to idle at 1.5 turns. Main usually winds up at about 3 1/8 or so but you've got to do it by feel/ear to get it right.
