I just purchased this 1968 125. PO replaced the seat, rebuilt the starter/generator, and painted it with rust oleum and a brush(doh!).
I may restore it some day, but I plan on using it for some heavy landscape work this summer. The machine came with a plow and mower deck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That's a good looking 125, very straight and clean. I think you will enjoy it a lot. Also, welcome to OCC. I noticed it even has a spring assist for lifting the front blade and deck. A nice addition.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I don't think the paint looks terrible.
The 12 hp Kohler is running great. I am going to change the engine oil and hydro fluid (and filter) this week. I need to mount up a trailer towing ball. Any recommendations for a hitch set up for moving trailers (utility, snowmobile, boat)? ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
