Is a 1200 with a hydraulic lift rare and how did the lift work with electric? The reason I ask is I am eyeballing a pair of cubs a 125 and 1200.I stopped and looked at them today but couldnt find the owner yet they both have been sitting out in the weather but dont look too bad at first glance.I just got a 129 with no deck but runs good and thinking of making a trade for the two If the owner will go for it.Also are these models ones I should avoid? Oh the lift is for sleeve hitch not deck

They are both great tractors! I have a 104 and a 1200 Love them both. The 104 is being converted into a 125, or a 127 depending on which fender setup I decide to keep, and dash stickers. The electric lift actuator mounts outside the frame I believe , just over the footrest. You can find a parts breakdown for anything you are interested in in the tech section of this site . All the manuals are listed by series and by owners, chassis service, etc.

Cub Cadet never offer a hydraulic lift on a 1200. If it has a hydraulic lift it's owber made. The 1200 did have a electric lift as a option. It was under the dash and trans tunnel.

I guess the 1200 may be owner modified. I didnt get to look real close I saw no creeper gear(which I always look for) on it but a hydraulic cylinder sticking out from behind and under the seat. The 125 I think has a plow with electric lift but I am sure that its not factory,My neighbor welded it for the po whom I know. But the tractors belong to someone else now. Thanks for the info. Its always nice to know what is and what isnt before making a deal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
