Default Serial number help

My wife's uncle is thinking about parting with one of his GT's. He doesn't use the side panels but has them still. He thinks he might have the side panels mixed up and got me the serial number. He's telling me that both are just a like and the side panels will fit each tractor with no problems.

Is this a serial number for a 1864? This is how he gave it to me, He's 82 so I hope he got the whole info correct.

Model 1864
Serial # 1374904
Model # D135G2

I'm still waiting on him to get me the model serial number from the other GT he has. I always thought that he had one SGT but now he's got me all confused I'm doubting myself from what I saw a couple of years ago. He's making wush we lived closer to each other.

This one has the factory CatO hook up in the rear.

Thanks for your help!

Duke i don't believe that is a 1864. That style of serial number wasn't used until the 2000 series tractors. Or at least according to Oscar H. Will's book. If I'm reading that correctly, that would appear to have been built on April 13 2005.

Duke:

The 1864 was first introduced in 1993 with Serial Numbers starting at 836,001. The chart I have only goes to 1997. The 1864 was at least produced through 1997 up to s/n 889,000.

Thanks Roland and AJ! I was unsure of the info he was giving me. I guess I'll have to wait until he calls with the side panel numbers from the other cub. I'm guessing that the only way for sure is to drive to Ohio and get the info myself.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
