Default Rear end swap question
Will a rear end from a 129 hydro be a direct replacement for a 782 rear end? The reason I ask is my 782 has internal brakes and I can buy a 129 hydro rear end with external disk brake for cheap. Would also have the complete 129 minus rear end for sale cheap if it would work.

Yes you can, I'm doing the very same thing with a 1450 iron rear that I'm replacing in a 1811/782/????

My current project is a 582 iron gear drive in a 1811 frame with external brakes. I'm ignoring the internal.

You'll just need the correct linkage to the brakes.

Just remember you'll have to swap pumps, as the 129 pump isn't ported for the hydraulic lift.
