Default Round Fiberglass Fenders

I've found a website selling fiberglass round fenders, 100 for the pair. I was wondering what you guys think. would the fiberglass hold up against everyday work or will they crack easy? Or should I hold off and find metal fenders for my 100? Here's a link to the website.

I think those are to reduce weight for pullers, just like fiberglass hoods. I doubt they would hold up or even look like a real set of metal fenders. Why not call our sponsors at the top of the page and see if they can help you out with a set? Obviously this is just my perspective, but some pullers in here might know if those are better built than what I think they are.

I looked at them and I agree with DX3 that they probably won't hold up to daily use, but I disagree that they wouldn't look like the steel ones, I was impressed with the look of them. I'd say go for them if you're gonna just look at the tractor, but if you're gonna use it I'd hold out for metal ones.

I'd go on ahead, and get the correct set of fenders for your 100.

Yeah i think I'll get a set of metal ones. i was just wondering about these. I've talked to Chris Westfall, he said when he has some in he sells them for $150 so I'll probably go that route. Thanks guys for your input.

Default Glass fenders

In 1963 JD introduced the 110 that had fiberglass(round) fenders...in 1964 they came in metal only. Metal takes the wear and tear as other forum members have stated.

My Grandad had a JD 110 with fiberglass fenders they held up really well but we knew from the time we could drive it that we weren't suppose to put much weight on them. If you did they would just fold over and wouldn't break but if I had a choice I would go with metal fenders.

yeah! He sold the tractor a few years back now and he got a good penny for it since everything was original on it. Not sure why he got rid of it but wish he hadn't.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
