Anyone have a Cub Cadet LT1042 w/ a Snowblower attachment

I have a LT1042 lawnmower that's about 5 years old and has an electric PTO switch. I found a snowblower attatchment that fits on the frame and installed the support bars to the frame. I am having problems with the belt coming off. I bought a 60 inch, 1/2 v belt for it. I measured it with a piece off rope. The snowblower I have is a a few years older than my mower. I can't find any serial or model numbers on it anywhere. The Cub Cadet dealers I have called won't help me about a belt without providing them with some serial or model numbers. It is a black snowblower that appers to be either a yardman or MTD. The blower pulley is about 3-4 inches lower than the pulley on my tractor. Is this part of my problem? The belt seems to be coming off when the blower attatchment rides up on ice or a snowbank.

If I get a shorter belt for it I don't know how to install it other than having to pull the drive pulley off. I was hoping to stay away from this.
