Hey Skip!!! How's it going good buddy!!!!
Skip, I'm not too familiar with the cubs that came after the Original but I'll give it my best shot. After doing some searching here and there, I came up finding out that the Deck that's numbered 441u1111 was made for the 149 Cub Cadet. And as for your 169 Cub Cadet, there are several Mower Decks that fit your tractor. But there's a catch to it. Each deck that was made for the 169 Cub Cadet was assigned to a specific 169 Cub with a specific Serial Number. Basically, find the Serial Number to your Cub and you'll find the deck that was assigned to your tractor. Hope this helps in some way???? Take care good buddy!!! ![]()

Cub61: Since the 169 was just another Cub Cadet Garden Tractor in the 1x8/9 series, where did you find that there were decks made especially for and unique to each 169??
IH tractors did not come from the factory with any implements or accessories as standard equipment. They had to be purchased separately from the Dealer, and in the Cub Cadet's case, including which size deck the buyer wanted - all optional! Only the Lawn Tractor style riding lawn mowers and the Rear Engine Riding lawn mowers came with a deck as standard. That "441U1111" on the deck is only an ID/specs tag and is does not contain a one-up serial number like the tractor kind/codes. See IH CPE-2. This deck was built in 1973 & 1974. The 169 was built during this same period. The 169 was more-or-less a field test preview of the not-before-used Kohler 16 hp engine, planned for the upcoming QL series with the 1650 in the line-up. The only odd thing about the 169 was that IH ran out of the standard (to the 149 & 169) hydraulic lifts during the 169's production run and some had manual lifts instead. Retro-fit kits were made available later for 169 (only) buyers wanting hydraulic lifts. Otherwise, the 169 used any optional accessory or equipment used on any other Cub Cadet. The PTO belt for the 169 with that 441U1111 deck is an IH 59971-C1 belt. The deck spindle belt is an IH 59701-C1 (MTD/CC: 754-3004) belt. Myron B |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
