Default Then There Were Three!!!

Picked this up today, my third. Think this will be my winter project. Came with a binder full of original manuals, for the tractor, rotary mower, #2 lawn sweeper, and a T-C 82 parts catalog for cub tractors and implements. Also came with a quiet line brochure. he told me he didn't think he had the oil bath but when I got there he said he had found it when he found the hood bird. Also has the brackets I needed for my snow plow and weights on it. When I was about to leave he said that he had another set of wheels with ags on them and wheel weights that he couldn't find but saied when he did he would send them to me. Not bad for 200 bucks!

Great deal, Junior! I'm starting to want another Original. I'd like to find one, for my wife and I to restore.

Hello juniors1282,
I sure would like to see a photo of a #2 sweeper.
Your new Original looks GREAT and it also looks to have the front brackets for a blade or something.
That is a perfect score for what you payed.

I'll look later for a picture of one. If I could get my stupid scanner to work right I would scan in the lawn sweeper manual. Funny thing is I went to an auction yesterday and there was won there. I sat there for 5 hours waiting for it to come up and it ended up bringing to much. It sold for 60 bucks and it was far from perfect, It was nice but they pop up now and for less. I'll just wait till a better deal comes along. Those front brackets are the main reason I bought it. I bought an early non srping trip plow a couple months ago and it was missing those brackets. He sent me the pictures and as so as I saw them I got pumped. I asked him if he would sell me just the brackets but he wanted to keep it together. At that auction they sold 5 cub yesterday, a 102 with a creeper and tiller round fenders from a 100 on it 180 bucks, a 127 rough 80 bucks, a147 with 3 point, electic lift all there, weights, chains in great shape for 120 bucks thought my buddy was going to bid so i didn't and he changed his mind last second, , a 680 hydro (why I went) running with a 50" deck went for 250 bucks, and an 1811 rough went for 180 bucks. wish I would have taken my trailer!!! I held off on tractors because I knew I was picking this up today and really didn't have the room for two more. If I knew my friend was not jumping on the 147 that wold have come home with me.

Thanks for all the compliments. The more I look at it the happier I am with it.
It really is in very good shape. The rust that is on it is nothing more than surface rust, there in no pitting anywhere. The seat is near perfect no cracks at all.

Mizar here's a picture of a #2 lawn sweeper I just bought from Ray Weaver.
They made them with yellow, white, and red canvas. The one I passed up at the auction had white canvas.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
