Default Inspection cover

Will a 1282 inspection cover fit on a 1250. I think it will but I want to make sure before I buy it. Thanks for any info, John Schute.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody know where you can buy the 12-24 hex head screws that hold down the inspection cover? The ones from Cub are expensive and I have yet to find anything but regular screws.

Thanks

I just tapped mine a little larger to fit a more available bolt. I don't remember the size but it was not much bigger.

McMaster-Carr has them- 93075A289 but you have to buy a package of 50. You could probably sell sets of 4 to help recoup the cost.

I thought out that. Out of 5 places I looked, 4 of them jumped from 10-24 to 1/4-20. (Lowes, Menards, Ace and Farm and Fleet) The only one that had it as a screw was my local small town True Value. There is 1 more True Value they recommended I try. Granger has them, but I don't need a package of 100.

I have been tempted to buy them and then list them to people on here to buy them in groups of 4 to cover the cost of the screws and shipping, not to get rich.

Matt,

You are evidently faster at typing than I.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
