Default Starter Generator Oil
I just realized recently that my 149 has the older style starter generator with an oil cap on it. What grade of oil does it take?

Any oil is better than no oil but I like 3-4 drops of 3 in 1 light machine oil.

i don't have any of that unfortunately. How about plain SAE30 like what's used in the engine?

If I recall the ones with the oiler have a bronze or sintered brass bushing instead of a roller bearing. As stated earlier any oil is better than no oil. I think it was originally serviceable.

Sometimes as I have BTDT If the bearing on the pulley side has been updated to a sealed bearing the felt has been removed, so putting oil in it will just make a mess inside. I have only seen a bushing in the communicator end.
