I would like your input on the two different rear lifts available for the 149. I will be using it for mowing and some ground work. Thinking now, most likely a box scraper and maybe a land scape rake or similar. At this point I have none of the parts necessary for either the CC 3 point with Brindly type attachment or the Cat. zero three point hitch from Xtrem. Additionally, I do not yet have the implements other than the mower deck. I wish price was not a consideration but it always is. It seems that the Cub Brindly set up would be a little less expensive but only a few hundred dollars. Or, is the future unknown versatility of the cat zero 3 point worth the extra investment? What are your thoughts?
Appreciate your thoughts. John in Mn |

You had better factor some wheel weights and a set of AG tires into that equation while you are at it.
And maybe even some front weight of some kind. |

Good points. The better equipped it can be the less likely I will be disappointed. I don’t expect this little tractor to move massive amounts of anything …but it’s likely the only motorized
tool I will ever own to assist with such tasks. The ground I am thinking of is fairly sandy ( Nothern Mn) and my initial rear weight thoughts were that I am a fairly large fellow but adding weight is likely a good idea. I was thinking about a front “rock box” to even things out a bit in the front. If I could find a reasonable suitcase weight set up, or similar, I will consider that too. Just put on new rear tires that are not ag. Think I will look for a second set of rear ag tires and possible liquid fill. Have you used any ground engaging implements with a hydro CC? John in Mn |

Have you used any ground engaging implements with a hydro CC? [/QUOTE] I used a moldboard plow, tiller, Brinly planter, homemade field cultivator, homemade carryall, IH 40 box blade. I aslo have a Viking Landscaper, Cannon Earth Cavator and a Brinly harrow. All the attachments are used on my manual and hydro IH Cub Cadets

If you have a very sandy subsoil, then all bets are off as to what you may be able to accomplish with GE attachments.
There's not a whole lot of clearance under the rear axle once you get a hitch set up. Spin a wheel in dirt while plowing, cultivating or pulling a 2 gang disc and down Ya go! Good luck! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
