2072 questions
This is my first post so please pardon any forum faux pas. And thanks to the administrator of the site who led me to the position from which i could post. I'm not sure if calling him by name would constitute aforementioned faux pas but he'll know who he is... I have a 2072 (149730100 SN#781018) that originally had a 60" Haban mower deck when i bought it but i quickly took that off and installed a 54" Haban Power Angle blade. I lent that deck to a friend and he's used it for years on his 2072 to mow several acres of pasture around his house. I recently acquired a 1572 and decided to install the Power Angle blade on that. My friend said he was no longer using the deck and i could put it back on the 2072. I did so with the only problem; other than the PTO clutch being froze up initially; being the fact it will not raise all the way. I saw another post on here that gave me some go to points to check on that. Which leads me to the problem I'm posting about on this thread. After we got the deck off his 2072 (148730100 SN#770389), he asked if he could use my extra Haban Power Angle blade and we attempted to put it on his 2072. Didn't notice until we got it installed that he was missing the lift bar on the outside of the frame. He'd never noticed because he'd only ever used a mowing deck and didn't need the auxiliary lift capability. I'm trying to understand the Parts Tree schematic and it appears there's the internal lift assembly rockshaft (part #703-0838) that fits inside the frame rails and a secondary rockshaft (703-0854-0637) that inserts from the right side of the tractor outside the frame. Is my understanding correct on this and if so; two follow up questions: 1) How is this secondary rock shaft secured inside the other rockshaft? 2) Where can i get one. I've only reached out to Mr. Houtz and five minutes into our conversation, he informed me he was on vacation and i needed to do my own work, before hanging up on me... When i input the aforementioned part numbers into his websites search engine, it didn't show any results so I'm assuming he didn't have what i needed anyhow. Before posting this i looked at a "how to post" thread and one bit of advice said "Don't send short posts"... If nothing else, i think i nailed that one! I appreciate any advice y'all are willing to send.
