What does everyone run for engine oil filter on their 1772? I've always purchased NAPA 1064 for mine because that is what it had on it when I purchased the machine. However, I just discovered that the NAPA 1064 is designated as a hydraulic oil filter. I would like to make sure I'm using the right filter. I'm not looking for a "best filter brand" discussion. Just want the correct part number. I keep finding different answers everywhere I look online. Thanks!

I just bought one for my 1572 which is the same filter. I got a HH1J0-32430 Kubota filter. This is the replacement for HH150-32430 and 70000-15241. I get them at my local Kubota dealer since it is close by. I get the oil at the same time.
When I went to the dealer I asked for a HH150-32430 because this is the filter I got last year. That is when I found out it the part number had changed again.

I run the 51064 in all my diesels. Wix makes it for Napa but they take the 5 off of the Wix filter number.
Here is a screen shot from the Wix site. Screenshot 2025-06-08 at 11-43-49 WIX Filter Finder.jpg It also says it's a lube/transmission filter.... ![]() Screenshot 2025-06-08 at 11-40-31 Part Details.jpg I looked up my Kubota B7500 and it also says to use the 51064 on the engine. IDK but I guess I'll stick to using them.

The important point is that you want the filter on the engine to have a bypass valve
so that if the filter gets clogged you will still have oil circulation. I asked my Copilot this: "Is there a difference between engine oil filters and hydraulic oil filters?" Answer: "Yes, there is a difference! Engine oil filters and hydraulic oil filters serve distinct purposes, even though both are designed to remove contaminants from oil. Engine oil filters are designed to remove dirt, metal particles, and combustion byproducts from the oil. They typically have bypass valves to ensure oil flow even if the filter gets clogged. Hydraulic oil filters, on the other hand, are used in hydraulic systems to keep the fluid clean and prevent wear on the components. These filters generally provide finer filtration and often lack bypass valves because hydraulic systems require consistently clean fluid." |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
