Default Removing rust/repairing chrome
I need to remove the surface rust off on the steering wheel on my 126 along with the chrome on the lift handle.

What does everyone do to fix this?

A good chrome cleaner is about all you can do.
Available most anywhere auto parts are sold, even in Wal-Mart!

Turtle wax chrome cleaner has been working for me since
1954.
Lately I've had to buy it directly from the company or on line.
If the chrome is too far gone, then stripping, polishing, nickel plate then finish chrome (done by re chrome shops)

Prety tough to do for a 126 wheel or the like.
What with the whole unit being a molded plastic/steel assembly.
The lift handles could possibly be dis-assembled and re-plated I guess.

A quick and inexpensive way to polish it up: take a piece of aluminum foil, shiny side against the chrome, and rub it back and forth.

I may just clean the rust off, tape off everything and paint the chrome pieces cc white. I think white would accent the yellow and black really well. If
