Default Clutch help please!!!!!

I am working on restoring a Cub Cadet 122 and the clutch is being strange. I started it for the first time, pressed the clutch down, put it in reverse, and hit the shop wall without releasing the clutch. I am a noob because this is my first cub project and was hoping somebody could help.

Explain your issue better. So your clutch is stuck?

Well at least the wall stopped ya.

You need to help us out here if you want us to help you.
Like what happens when you shift into first?
Is the clutch stuck down. So when you turn the key the tractor starts moving.
The first place a person needs to start to fix a problem is to start
figuring out what the problem is. Start checking out everything you
can see and let us know what is going on.

Maybe this will get you going. Here is a couple pictures of your
clutch. You can pull the clutch cover off and see it under there.
Cover is right behind the engine.

Start working the clutch pedal back and forth and see what is happening.
With the clutch down you should see the tension come off between
the 2 pressure plates and the friction disc. Let us know what you see.

If a tractor has been sitting unused for a long period of time,
I have seen the clutch plates and disc all become rusted together.
Depressing the pedal will not separate them.
If that's the case you can lock the pedal down and pry them loose with a putty knife or screwdriver.

yep got several old cars trucks and tractors ALWAYS make sure the clutch is depressed when i put them away.
I have had some luck with putting the front of the tractor against a solid obstruction- like the garage wall! pulling the spark plug wire(s) then putting it in 3rd gear, depressing the clutch and hitting the starter.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
