Default NOS Seat for a 149

Looking for a new-Original seat for my 149 restoration project. Mine is beyond repair. I’ve seen a few people get these from somewhere. Thanks!

K & M Manufacturing in MN is the OEM supplier of the original seats. Yours is the KM 165 Black Bucket Seat with Steel Pan made in USA. I just ordered one in September for $99. plus $15. shipping.

Lew, is the one on the right correct for a 1x8/1x9 machine? I know the one on the left is but I didn't think the 6 pad came out until the QL's.

Oak, there was a version in between those two seat designs that were used on the wide frames and the early Quiet Lines.

Yes, I’m looking for the top left one in the picture of the 2 seats. That’s my original seat design

I went on their website to look and its directing you to tractorseats.com
I couldn't find the km165, only the 160
https://www.tractorseats.com/p-960-u...cket-seat.aspx
A google search found people reselling them for $219!
Did you call them directly to order one?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
