Are the narrow frames still "wider" than modern LTs?

One thing I loved about my 2155 was how wide it was compared to these newer LTs. Anytime I used my neighbor's newer MTD LT I always felt unstable on hills due to how narrow it was.

But now I'll be picking up this 104 on Monday and I wanted to know if it's still "wider" than a modern LT comparatively even though it's a "narrow" frame. I tried looking up the measurements of the 104 vs the 2155 on tractor data but the 2155 is listed as over a foot wider so I think it's including the deck width whereas the 104 is only listing the tractor width. I would think that the 104 would be at least as wide if not wider due to the large back wheels, but I'm not sure. Anyone whose used both the old and new have any insight?

You can widen the track width by going wider rear tires, add offsets or go dually. One issue is the rear deck wheels may impede your efforts.

Ok so definitely narrower. It looks like the 104 has around the same weight as the 2155 and that's without the deck. Maybe the extra weight will help it feel more stable on hills?

I run rear Ag's On My 106 23X8.50-12 But You Can run 23X10.50-12 if You want Titan also Makes wheel spacer's which will bolt right On to Your 104 or consider the dual wheel adapters or wheel spacers from Xtreme http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/Dual...20Spacers.html

While the dually does look cool, I think it would make it too wide lol. I'm already worried I might not be able to get it into my shed with the deck attached, as the door is only 44in wide and I'm not sure if this mower has the 38 or 42in deck yet, I'll find out Monday when I go get it. I'm kinda hoping it's 38in just so it'll for sure fit through the door without removing the deck...

Remember. Weight plays a huge factor as well.

That's what I'm hoping is the weight will be enough to keep it stable on the hill. I only have one tricky Hill in my yard, the rest is pretty flat. It's kinda a narrow "hump" that you hafta kinda straddle. Or just use a push mower lol
