I notice that the vast majority of new and/or active members are from the Eastern states of your country
Is this a demographic thing in relation to Cubs manufacturing plant or just a quirk that means absolutely nothing They do grow grass/lawn on the western side of your country , that is not a guess anyway I am a curious Australian Oz

Your speculation is about as good as mine. I can tell you, without a doubt, that the State of Pennsylvania, has the most OCC members.
The original IH Cub Cadet manufacturing factory at the time, was in Louisville Kentucky. I am guessing IH started a Wholesale Distributor Network from Louisville, and the Eastern US had a head start. If anyone has further input, please let us know. ![]()

More money in the east, not much in the west at that time, except CA and Las Vegas...

I would say it is the north east also. Not as many Cubs south of Virginia. A quick look on CL and there isn't 1 Cub Cadet garden tractor in the northern half of Georgia. I just looked in the Picksburg, PA CL and there are 18 Cub Cadet garden tractors listed.

So what would be a popular lawn/garden tractor over on the west coast ?
What other brands are popular on the east coast ? Out here Husqvarna , Deere , Kubota , Toro and Cub/MTD are the most common Oz

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
