Default How reliable are the NF hydraulic lift units?

Just found a narrow frame hydraulic lift to put on my 125 and was curious as to the reliability of these units. I use this tractor mainly for snow removal with a push blade. The lift I purchased seems to be working fine and the cylinder is rust free. I did drain and fill the pump with fresh Hy-Tran.

No leaks or cracked hoses than you are good to go.

I put a Hydraulic lift on my 125 3 years ago and it's still working OK. I also use it mainly to lift a snow blade although mine also lifts the rear hitch too. I had to replace the hoses as mine were deteriorating on the inside, and there was a bit of a learning curve before I got everything adjusted correctly, but no problems since then.

It works as good, or better, than any 50+ year old piece of used machinery could be expected to. I like it.

Bought one with the Intentions of Putting it On My 106 But decided I Like the actuator Look so Going to Put this On the 106 https://www.thomsonlinear.com/en/pro...uators/h-track already replace the duff-Norton actuator with a Thompson electric actuator (still to slow compared to Hydraulic lift) But I'll see How Plug and Play Hydraulic work. And Put the Narrow frame Hydraulic Lift Unit On the 70 I Know I need to replace the Hoses on the Narrow Frame Unit as there Look's to be a slight leak. I Know there Original Hoses as well and the Previous Owner Just started Have a slight leak about 2019, and It was On a 104 when New in 1967

I had a hard time finding one in decent shape by itself, so I bought a whole tractor to get the lift. The donor 125 is not in as good of shape as mine so I will just remove the hydro unit amp put it on my 125.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
