Hi All,
I recently acquired a Haban 402A Sickle Mower to put on my 147, and I want to make sure I have it mounted correctly. There is a leftover bracket and can't figure out where it goes. Also, I routed the chain several different ways and was wondering if anyone could tell me the correct way to route it. |

I am surprised you did not paint it first....
Looks like the chain is on wrong, the spring end mounts to the strut.

Yes, I saw where the chain attached there but there was a little spot to hook it and seemed to work. Is the chain what keeps the sickle from rubbing on the ground? |

Is this any better? I have no idea what the bracket piece I have goes to. This was modified to fit a 147 so maybe that piece was needed to fit an earlier model? The only mounting points are in the front and rear of tractor, right? Nothing is supposed to attach to the lift?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
