Thanks for posting this. Having a background in graphic design, I really love these old authentic pieces. Someone should publish a booklet with old IH Cub marketing materials and manuals.

Back then, a person with a lot of foresight and little extra cash would be happy today had he
bought and stored away a couple of dozen sets of rear fenders and chrome plated hub caps.

And a few of these. I believe they were only meant for the big machines, but I've always wanted one for one of my Cubs.

I restored and sold one of those radios this past year. They are a lot bigger than one might think.

Back in the 80's, my early teenager son's job was to cut the grass.
He'd grudgingly do it, but as an act of defiance, he would strap his, what was then called a "boom box", to the push mower and blast away. Go figuire?

Dad had the one on the lower left on his Cub. I've got it now in the garage (and it still works) but it is missing the antenna.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
