Default Leaf Mulching Plate for 42" Cast Iron End Mower Deck

Anyone have the leaf mulching plate for a 42" cast iron end mower deck? I would like to make one and need the dimensions.

I don't know the dimensions, but if you have the deck it shouldn't be terribly hard to figure them out.

That looks more like it. I bought one a few years ago, but it does not seem to fit properly. I can see why, it is not for my deck. Does the bolting flange go in or out? Thanks for the photo.

Could you post in higher resolution? When I enlarge it for my old eyes to see, the dimensions are unreadable. I assume the attaching flange with the holes would point in towards the blades?

Yes, I did see that in my manual. Your photo was better help and another on the forum posted a drawing. So, I am all set.

For those that have used them, how well does this work? I'd love to mulch my leaves with my 48" deck on my 147 vs walking my property multiple times with a 21" mulching push mower. (not that walking is bad I just hate the way the yard looks after using a push mower)

I ever used the one I have on the 42” cast deck but I hade one to fit my 44A and 50A decks. The 50 has Gator blades on it and does pretty well. The 44 does fair. It doesn’t chop them as fine as a true mulching deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
