Default My Trip To TSC

Was uneventful ...... but the trip home was fun. I was about an 1/8 of a mile away when I saw the white & yellow on the side of the road. When I pulled over it turned out to be a 149 looking in pretty good condition. I looked it over and found it had a solid deck, good tires, nice paint ..... just a small wrinkle on the left rear fender. Owner came out and said take it for a ride, which I did and the trans felt good and engine sounded good. He says $650 and I had to say I have to think about it. That's when I walked around it one more time with it running and felt the air blowing out the front grill. I opened the hood to check and sure enough it had a blown head gasket. I showed him and he agreed I was right. The conversation then went like this.

Me -Blown head gasket, best I could do would be $400
Him-Nooo, I gotta get at least $500 out of it
Me -I understand, but I only have $450
Him-Aww, what the heck, I'll help you load it

I ran home to get the ramps, hit the ATM, brought her home. Took the deck off before loading so I wouldn't batter my wheel wells.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
