very beautiful 1200! i am currently rebuilding a 1200 that was a twice abandoned project, by two other people. i have it running, moving, cutting grass, etc.... but am completely lost in how IH ran throttle, and choke cables to engine. i know im missing parts, but in my best guess the choke cable came to the carb from the top. Is this correct? would you please share some cable run pics carb side? thank you for your help

Default 2 more questions

if you dont mind

what air filter is for the k301aqs? right now i have my 104 air filter assembly on the 1200 with that side cover off.... which brings me to my next question. what are the tabs with holes for (in front near hood hinge ) on top of the side covers? is there supposed to be a rod to tie them together to keep them from rattling and making more noise than not having them at all? i dont use the factory exhaust, so wouldn't know if there would even be room for a rod across that area.

There is supposed to be a spring that runs across between the 2 engine covers. I got one at Ace that fit perfect. Only cost $2 also!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
