Default aftermarket pto wear buttons
Any suggestions as to bronze or nickel brass?

The second one makes it sound like it's harder than bronze, which isn't good...you may start wearing out the more expensive center button inside the clutch if you use that.

Thought of that, I think he is using a Cupro nickel that is normally used for corrosion prevention in marine applications. Maybe its what he had on hand around?:biggrin2.gif:

I gotta agree with Matt, though the center button in the PTO isn't ALL that expensive it isn't something you don't want to replace if you don't have to.

I have a few tractors with the bronze wear buttons in them, I don't notice any real difference in wear between them and the factory fiber buttons, if your PTO is adjusted and working properly, the only time there is any real wear going on is between the time you pull the lever back and the time the clutch stops turning. A fiber button should last a long time if everything is working as it should.
