John was walking down the street when he was approached by a particularly dirty-looking homeless man who asked him for a couple of dollars to buy food.
John took out his wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked, "If I give you this money, will you buy beer with it instead of food?" "No, I stopped drinking years ago," the homeless man replied. "Will you spend this on green fees at a golf course instead of food?" John asked. "Are you NUTS?" replied the homeless man. "I haven't played golf in 20 years!" "Well," said John, "I'm not going to give you money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a hot shower and an excellent dinner cooked by my wife." The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you?” "That's okay,” said John. “It's important that she sees what a man looks like after he's given up drinking and golf!"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
