Default Question on O's

Did O's come with rear fenders? Was it an option? I see Lots of them with out any and some with. I even saw a drawing or rendering of one without fenders that looked like a drawing from IH. I am looking at one for sale and it does not have rear fenders.
If it is suppose to have them I would imagine they are not cheap or easy to come by.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It was an option. And yes, they are expensive if you find a set today.

Expensive is relative. They usually run about $250/$300 depending on who's selling. You can find them for less.

True. It is relative.

Perhaps it's just expensive to me. I work Automotive. I quote Class A (paint surface quality) stampings to varioius auto OEMs. The entire left hand and right hand bodyside main stamping on a car doesn't run $250, so I guess it just comes off as expensive to me. Of course I doubt these tools do much stamping these days, and there are a limited number of O fenders on the market, so they are priced accordingly. I just can't wrap my head around paying that, but I know I would and will if I ever get my hands on an O that needs a set.

Thanks guys.. I think to do one right the added expense would be worth it in the end. 200 bucks or so to add the cool factor is worth it to me.

They really do look cool. Who doesn't like the looks of an "O"?

If it runs as good as it looks, that cleveland O is a good deal.

But then......
.....there'd be nothing to work on.....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
