So,… the other day I was in New Bedford and I saw two green horns. You know, Portuguese guys who just came over from the old country. One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind him and fill the hole in. They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, one man digging a hole, the other filling it in again.
Finally I couldn’t take it any more so I said to the hole digger, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting into your work, but I don't get it - why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?"

The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-person team. But today Manny, the guy who plants the trees called in sick."

I saw the same two guys,, they were trying to get a mule out of a barn, but the mules ears would hit the doorway,,
The two guys were cutting ALL of the beams holding up the barn,
I asked what they were doing,, they explained they had to cut the beams, so that they could raise the barn,,

I asked,, "Why not dig out the doorway, rather than raise the barn??"

The one guy said "Yea, yea,, thanks,,,"

As I walked away I could hear the one guy say to the other,,,
"Boy, what a dumb southerner,,, the mules ears are too long,,, not its legs!!!"

So,.. on my way home from New Bufu I had to walk past the psych ward and all the patients were shouting, "13...13...13". I had to figure out what was going on but the fence was too high to see over. Then I saw a little gap in the planks, so I looked through to see what was going on.

Some idiot poked me in the eye with a stick, and they all started
shouting, "14...14...14".

At some point I gotta start minding my own business.
