Cub cadet 382 hood

Just wondering what a 382 hood is made out of. Mine is broke on both sides two inches above the hinge and I’d like to fix it properly.

It's fiberglass.

I have an older 111 that uses the same style hood and it was definitely fiberglass. Maybe they used a different material for the newer hoods.

...I vividly recall when I swept dust off the hood of my Hydro 80 in one fellow swoop, it was the moment I regretted even touching the hood. Yes, it is scared, angry porcupine dressed up like a tractor hood. It was nearly a month before I got all the fibers out of my hand. Fiberglass it is.

That's funny, like ho ho. But probably the same reason they quit using fiberglass for the sliding boards at the kiddy park. LMAO

Yup, definitely fiberglass. I have a 282, and I will have to do some work on my hood.

Yep, fiberglass--and they all seem to be broken in the hinge area.

And fiberglass is pretty easy (if itchy) to work with.
