Default The best Christmas present ever.

When I was a little boy, my Grandpa had a 104 that my Dad inherited, when he passed. That meant I got to cut the grass with it. I did everything with that tractor, it was my four wheeler. I remember it was a 10 hp with a blue stripe and a gear drive with a creeper. It also had skinny tires at all four corners. We had a wind breaker cab and a snow thrower, along with a deck too.
When I was away one summer for work, my Dad had sold it off. I really didn't think much of it at the time. Because of the girls, you know what its like, out of high school.
Anyways, 3 weeks ago I found one on the list about 3 hours away. I knew it was not going to happen because I had a lot going on at work and at home.
So Christmas eve comes, I had gotten my step dad a 149 with a plow for his present. About an hour after I arrived, he come riding around the corner on the holy grail 104 from the CL ad. My brother and him had gone and gotten it for me because they knew how much it meant to me. This one has headlights and what I think is a factory cigar lighter. Runs a little rich, I have some work to do.

It’s a Festivus miracle!

Congrats on a beautiful, clean 104! Looks like pretty much everything is there!

Congrats on the 104!

Looks like a factory lighter to me!

Just picked up a 104 a couple weeks ago. Yours is in better shape than mine.

Well there it is. The 104 I've been hearing about. Congrats Cory on your "gotta have" tractor.
Master of Lew will know if that's a genuine cigar lighter or not.
He's prolly out bringing in the new year, may take a day or two.

Nice find, seems more sentimental than anything, that's kinda how my cub is with me. Even though it's not exactly what my father had it still is nice to have something that reminds you of the past.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
