Default Original still leaking oil from the head..

Hello guys hope you had a good Easter,
My original still leaks oil from the head. Is there such thing as resurfacing the head too much? I got a new gasket when I restored it this winter. And torqued the bolts with sequence. It has blowby. Do you think that's my problem is too much blowby? Just thought I would let you guys know. You know more than me!

Thanks guys

Noah

Noah,

What kind of head gasket did you get? If it doesn't have that seal around the inner perimeter, then your oil problem might be from the oil leeching through the lining of the gasket. Go with quality parts when replacing parts on your tractor or you get the reward of doing them over.

Oil shouldn't be on the inside of the head gasket anyway...... unless the motor is shot. I do concur though.... head gaskets without a fire ring are junk.

Yeah, too often people sacrifice quality for saving some change not realizing the long term costs is always more. I wasn't having a memory loss and forgot it was called a fire ring. I think the Stens gasket is alright to use, but it has been a couple of years since I had to change one out.

Thanks guys for the input. I've been busy with an old Deere A. I will retorque after it's done warming up and will post pics of the gasket on it now. Thank you it mostly leaks where the exhaust port is from the engine. I will start on it and show you the gasket.
Thanks

No, don't take the head off. If you do that, you'll have to replace the gasket. Can't use them over.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
