Default Cubs retired from mowing

My Cubs are semi-retired from mowing duty as of today. I inherited my dad's County Clipper zero turn and went and picked it up today. It's a 2011 Jazee with 48" deck and 20 hp Kohler. It should cut down on my mowing time considerably.

Is that a single joystick to drive with?

I do like knocking out 4 acres in 2 hours with the Scag, but I still have to find sometime on the Cubs. Hope the zero turn works out for you.

Nice... you will likely see your mowing time cut in half or maybe even less. I personally still prefer a steering wheel so for a couple years now Ive been using mowers with a front mounted deck and rear steer but the time saving is comparable to a ZT.

I would own a diesel ZT in a heartbeat,,, except for one issue.

We have had a number of neighbors flip ZT's,,, and several more slide the ZT onto a busy road!!

The combination of damp grass,, hills/grades,, and whatever other factors keep a steering wheel in my hands.

NO ZT 4 ME should be my license plate,,

I like the Zero Turn mowers and I agree they are a bit faster, But I still like to run my older Cubs just for nostalgia. Plus anytime I am mowing in the front with a Vintage Cub, I get all kinds of honks and thumbs up from the people that drive by!!

I have a Kubota F2000 right now you might like, 3cyl diesel with a 60" front mounted deck, 4 wheel drive hydrostatic with a front diff lock. Still alot of work to do on it but I just need a belt for the deck and it will be ready to test out when the grass gets green.

Ive used quite a few ZTs and they are nice as long as the lawn is fairly even and smooth otherwise they can be a rough ride. Theres a nice 48" Gravely ZT over at my shop but at home I like front mowers with bigger tires.

Yes it is. It will take a while to get used to.

I've heard of issues with ZTs and hills but my yard is flat so I don't forsee any issues.

With the Gravely ZT at the shop Ive noticed it can leave ridges in the finished cut if the deck is lower on the front so I keep it adjusted closer to perfectly flat, about 1/8 inch lower instead of 1/4 like I do on GT mounted decks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
