UTV
How many of you guys run UTV's? I'm not really talking about the dune buggy style 5pt harness racing kind of playtoy. I'm speaking more of the work horses--Kawasaki Mules, Deere Gators, etc. Reason I ask is I saw a CL ad for one made by Cadet with like a 30hp? Kohler engine. Seems a lot of HP for what it is. I've got a Kawasaki Mule 550 with 1800 or more hrs. Undoubtedly the finest pc of machinery I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It gets used around the farm, but not abused. Then of course there have been several days of it hauling rocks out of the fields with the bed so full it took 2 guys to dump it. If mine blows tomorrow, I doubt I'll look anywhere else other than Kawasaki. Just kind of curious why the Cadet versions don't seem as popular. Any one here ever owned or extensively ran one?

I could never get past the small tires on a UTV,, so I spent the $$$$ for a 4WD tractor that can go pretty fast,, (15MPH?) and get anything done.
We have a regular ATV,,, with UTV size tires. I think the money for a UTV is kinda high, for what you get. My 4WD tractor I just bought, could easily out-pull a half dozen UTV's,,,

My Dad bought a Cub Cadet Big Country some years back. He picked it up used and a little rough around the edges. Honda engine. Electric lift dump box. He got it for $2700 from a Deere dealer. They use it often around the farm. Been a great UTV. Saw one of same vintage the other day on CL for $3000- seems steep.

I picked this one up years ago for around $2400 from my local Cub dealer. It has a CH18 in it, 2 wheel drive and manual dump. I love it but it does occasionally have an issue with the electronic push button shifter. I don't know what we would do without it.
