Anyone ever have a cub cadet lawn tractor rearend/tranny apart?
I got the thing out and took all the bolts out that hold the two halves together but can't get it separated. Any ideas anyone??

I've never taken one apart but I have to imagine there is pins or shafts that are pressed into both halves. Look for a pry section or lip.

Scott,

I found the pry lips but it doesn't want to budge and I'm afraid of cracking the case or busting something.

I havn't taken that part apart, but i've taken the axle tubes & rear cover off this past week, and a few taps all over SOFTLY from a rubber mallet, seamed to break the seal. That permatex Gasket sealer, really sticks after all these years.

Just be patiente and good things will come. (Just love that saying)

Hope it all goes well. and Remember, Always take pics. That way next time you do it, you'll remember how. :P

Thanks
Cody

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
