Default Napa points and condenser

What is the quality of the Napa points and condensers for our engines? I want to replace these parts on my 1450 and like the convienence of my local Napa store. Any experience you can share is appreciated.

Bob

Have them on one of my 149's for the past 6 years and never the first problem.

Most likely the parts from Napa are Stens or Primeline. Even if they are Echlin, those are all very good aftermarket parts.

I'm using 2 NAPA condensers on my 102 right now for better spark. It's an old hot rod trick I learned back in the early 70's. Haven't tried their points.

I went with NAPA condenser because Kohler wanted $12ea for what Napa was around $5ea for the longer, high capacity condenser.

More than anything for spark, make sure you have good ground and condenser(s) wire is pointed downwards to not collect any moisture to go bad.

I want to tune up my 1450 before mowing time.

I picked up the parts from Napa yesterday. I paid$12.49 for the points and $9.69 for the condenser. The condenser is unmarked and the points are marked Kohler.

Here it's $14.99ca($11.23us) for the condenser and $19.99ca($14.98us) for the point, I never shop at NAPA either, the local CARQUEST always give me a better deal, I know them since the 70's. They use to run under the name Clermont Auto parts in the old day's, G...already 40+ years have pass...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
