Hi,
I am having some trouble with my lift set up for my 450 blower, it only seems to lift 1" off the ground. Does anyone have pics of there 450 set up on a 782 so I can see what's wrong with mine... Thanks, Liam

I bought a 450 last year and mounted it to my 782. My IH built 782 didn't have the nuts welded to the frame. Against my better judgement I drilled it out. I only got 1 1/2"-2" lift. Mounted it to my 982 and I get 5" of lift now. Mounting it was so much easier than on the 782. Mine has adjustable lift bars, have it set on the last hole.

There are supposed to be bolts on the top corner of the blower frame where it mounts to the tractor. Like Rick says, the 782's don't have nuts on the frame. I just used a piece of all-thread and ran it through both sides. Welded the nut on one side so it's like a long bolt. Adjust the rod pretty much all the way out. Your only going to get about 3" maybe unless you 1.) drill more holes in the vertical lift bars, or 2.) lengthen the lift rod by making a new one, or cutting and welding in an extension. Stock set up, they just don't lift very high.

Okay thanks guys. So I have already drilled holes in the straps, one under the slot and 2 others on the bottom and if I had it set up normally it wouldn't lift but if I moved it to the hole under the slot it would lift maybe 2"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
