Default Refresh update QL1000

Well it has been a long time since i have put up anything about my $50au QL1000, so here we are it has just been a freshen up not a resto.. still have a noisy clutch and a few other things left to go. And the muffler is off a Yamaha YZ450f (not finished yet, manifold to be welded) as getting an original or even getting one made was going to be about $150. So far all up $235au. And a link to it Running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqZXgLtYhi8

Thanks Bamafan, look forward to seeing yours. Parts chasing is the hard part over here, can`t get 99% of things here. But it has been a labor of love.

Ha! Nice muffler! Looks like it fits right in there, and looks good too! There is a gent who made his own Quiet Line muffler, and did not appear all-too difficult.

Looking great!!!

Thanks Johncub, it did have a steel made one when i got it and i had previously made one as well just didn`t like the sound. Have cleaned it up since and removed the front dints. It sounds so much better than the way youtube makes it sound. has a deep bass type sound to it. Had to cut the muffler down approx 5 inches.

Good looking tractor.
You painted the strips on the hood, can't get them as replacements over there? Or just wanted to do your own?

Nice work Bruce. I'm sure parts for those are scarce where you are from and you did a great job being resourceful with the refurb. Most of us would like to buy a quiet line with deck for $37 US as well! And to have less than $200 US in it is good too.

Any plans for what you will use for the grill screens? Also what kind of paint did you use?

Cheers

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
