Default 3000 Series PTO not working
Hi, new to the forum, I have a 3000 series Cub that the PTO vacuum stopped working after a valve cover o-ring replacement at the local shop. PTO works when I manually engage the vacuum actuator, but nothing happens when I pull the dash PTO switch.

Is there a way to test the voltage going to the vacuum actuator to rule out the electrical or is there a way to bypass this module and direct connect the vacuum to see if it is working regardless of the actuator?

Hope I described correctly, thanks for any help.

Are you getting vacuum to the solenoid and what model is this on?

Model is a 3186, Yes I do have vacuum at the solenoid. Can I apply voltage to the solenoid direct from the battery via jumper wires to see if it engages? Assuming the PTO switch works?

Yes, you probably have a stuck plunger. If jumping it doesn't help you can pull it apart and clean it. I had one sticking on a GT3100 and cleaning it did the trick.

Hi, took this apart, as moving free, cleaned up and same result. With tractor running I put a meter on the solenoid input cable and it didnt register any voltage with everything engaged. Looks to be an electrical or PTO switch issue.

You could have an issue with the switch or relay. Have you checked the fuses? Do you have a wiring diagram or the 3000 series service manual?

These things have a bunch of "safety interlocks" and it seems that the exact combination is different based upon year and model. Sometimes they will malfunction or PO may have bypassed them and the bypass may now be failing.

Sometimes just unplugging and re plugging can get things working again.

You said "PTO works when I manually engage the vacuum actuator" Do you mean that you applied vacuum and it then worked or that you squeezed the actuator and it worked. If it is the latter, try pulling the connector off of the switch and then running vacuum hose direct to the actuator to see if it works then.

Model 3200 CC. Yes vacuum to solenoid, but stops there. When I bypass the solenoid and go directly to vacuum actuator the PTO engages. What is the next step?
