Default 129 help/ part question.

Pretty sure I screwed up and put this on wrong. Is it suppose to be the other way? I cannot find a diagram online for it. If so, how can this pin come all the way out. Sledgehammer is not working.

Why can't you just use a pin punch and drive it out from the other side? I would open my vise slightly more than the size of the pin, lay the shaft crossways with the pin in the opening and tap it out--this way the vise would serve as a v-block to give adequate support.

Well, if you assembled it wrong, sounds like you just drive the pin in...... should come out.

Short end of drive hub faces engine and long end with slot faces trans. Pin punch should drive it out easily when supported as mentioned above , good luck

Default Update!

Thank you for the vise idea. After about 2 hours, the pin came out. So now I'm stuck again. What is the method for getting this thing in? The pictures are as close as I can seem to get it. Short of banging the crap out of it, how does it go in? I just don't think I should really need a crow bar to leverage this thing in.

Unbolt the engine and slide it forward a tad. Should fall right into place.

4 bolts should take maybe 15 mins. That allows for a cold one or 2.

Ok I'll give it a go. Anything I need to watch for? Never removed an engine before. Because it something could go wrong, it will to me and this cub -_-

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
