Hi,
I have to repair a PO's mod of the PTO rockshaft on a 109. There is no place for a wear button, so I have to recreate the original release. My question is, what size hole does the fiber button wedge into? I have the button on order, but would like to start the repair. Thanks, Tom |

Here is the mod,
somebody thought it would be a good idea to weld this onto the original arm. Obviously a bad choice, you can see the inevitable destruction of the PTO levers. So, I have to cut all that off and start over with a flat piece of steel and a hole for the fiber disc. Regards, Tom |

Well then, there certainly isn't a broke off button in there...
I suppose that "worked" if the thrust button was broke... Sorry, I can't provide the diameter, I remember it was an odd size because I was going to run a drill through mine and I didn't have a bit the exact size. Good luck with the repair. I just rebuilt my 149 PTO, isn't too bad of a task. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi,
As I look at this mod, a thought occurred to me, the PO probably had a bearing in that cup you see in the photo, which could have worked, but the implementation was not great and the bearing failed, taking out the Pto levers. |

I bought my 147 in a similar manner....the PO didn't know about maintenance of the PTO so he just kept on turning the turnbuckle- once the fiber button disintegrated it ate into the throwout levers and eventually gernaded the bearing underneath, throwing the PTO off the engine completely. The solution to fix it was to sell it.
