Yeah looking great Ronnie. One of these days I will see how the ole timed deck works around here. I bet it cuts good. I didn't think I would be a fan of the weights being the same white but I like it just as much as them being yeller.

Looks great! Send it in for POTW. Those decks do a fine job. I spent a couple summers on my uncles O mowing 3 lawns that were about 2 acres each. Just ran that poor little O to death and it never skipped a beat. I'd bet anyone that a well restored O will out cut and out last the latest XT1 or XT2 Cubs. May not be as comfortable but it will Git Er Done.

It's an internal brake band Ronnie on the inside of the left axle tube that squeezes a drum. There's an adjustment rod. But might be contaminated due to leaking carrier seal and not working because of it

Deck wheels look sweet. Try adjusting the brake first. Procedure is in the manual. They last a long time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
